Although tourists commonly embark at Kuwait City, there are a few other cities in Kuwait that one can visit for a wider experience of the country. Salwa is one such suburb located in the Hawalli Governate, bordered to the north by Rumathaiya and to the south by Messila. It faces the Persian Gulf on the east and consists of a residential area of twelve blocks. A large number of expatriates live in Salwa.

There are various other similar residential areas in the Hawalli Governate that include Salmiya, Mishref, Bayan, Rumathaiya and others. The real glamour of the country lies in its capital, Kuwait City, which caters to tourism widely.

Taxis and buses are the mode of transportation here, as there is no railway system in Kuwait. Kuwait International Airport receives international passengers from where they can choose to visit other destinations as marked on their itinerary.
