Apart from the city’s urban attraction, one can visit some of the peaceful natural surroundings on the outskirts and a few kilometers from the city. In the Kota Tinggi district, which comes under the Johor Bahru metropolitan region, one can visit the Kota Tinggi Waterfalls lying 50 km to the northeast of the city. Another gigantic waterfall lies 14 km from Kota Tinggi town and offers a good place for picnics and for camping. One can even stay overnight at one of the chalets that are available here. It is developed as a tourist attraction and offers all necessary facilities such as restaurants and rest houses.
Mount Ophir is another ideal tourist Spot with the Sagil Waterfalls that offers clear cool waters for swimming while a resort in the area provides tourist amenities such as rest houses, campsites and food kiosks.
