A picturesque resort town, Queenstown is located in Otago, southwest of South Island in New Zealand. The town is situated along Queenstown Bay surrounding Lake Wakatipu, a scenic lake formed by glacial activity. Apart from providing some great adventure sports, Queenstown’s spectacular views and ideal location make the town a popular choice among honeymooners. Its vibrant nightlife is also a great attraction for many tourists. It offers sumptuous culinary delights apart from which it is in close proximity to the little wine-producing region in the southernmost tip of the world. This makes it convenient for the town to offer one of the best wines in the world, thereby adding to its attraction. Day trips to Milford Sound and Mount Cook may also be undertaken. Getting to Queenstown is easy by road and air, but unfortunately the town has no railway system. Frequent buses arrive to the town from various regions, bringing in tourists to the attractive resort town. Queenstown International Airport is situated 10 km from the town and has regular flights from some major cities in Australia apart from which it caters to domestic flights too.
