The majestic mosque is an imposing religious landmark that has been designed with the help of people from all over the world. The mosque has an impressive interior design as well as exterior. The idea for the mosque was initiated by the late President Sheik Zayed and the mosque has been named after him. The remains of the president are buried in the grounds outside the mosque.

Sheik Zayed Grand Mosque is the world’s largest mosque and at a time 40,000 worshipers can say their prayers. Not only this, the mosque is known for its eye-catching architectural design. It has been designed with 80 domes and over 1000 columns. Besides this, the mosque has chandeliers that are 24 carat gold-plated and the largest hand-woven carpet in the world.

The crowning glory of the mosque is the courtyard paved with floral marble that is cool on the feet, in spite of the hot burning sun and high temperatures. The mosque unlike the others in Abu Dhabi is open to non-Muslims as well. Furthermore, visitors who are interested in a quiet and serene atmosphere can always find it inside the mosque.
